Duty Rotation comes with Premium. You name a duty, say who is in the cycle and how often it comes round, and after that the app knows whose turn it is rather than somebody in the house remembering.
That is most of the value. The arguing about whose turn it was usually happens because two people are remembering different weeks.
Skip and swap are not the same thing
A skip passes the turn on without breaking the cycle. Somebody is away this week, the duty moves to the next person, and the ordering underneath carries on as it was. Nobody quietly ends up doing it twice as often afterwards.
A swap trades a single day between two people. The cycle is untouched. This is the one you want when two people agree between themselves and neither wants it to become permanent.
What it shows
The current turn is on the Household screen where the rest of today lives, so it sits beside the chores and the meals rather than in a rota app you have to remember to open. The history is there too, which settles the question of who actually did it last.
Chores are a different tool
Duty Rotation is for the one job that cycles: the bins, the school run, cooking on Thursdays. Chores are the list of jobs that get assigned and completed and can pay into Household Rewards. They sit beside each other and they answer different questions.
