Sync and backup are different machines and it is worth knowing which one you want. Syncing keeps this phone and every other device you sign in on holding the same thing, and it catches up after a dead zone. Backup is yesterday and the day before, kept on a schedule you do not set.
Restore Points are the backup half. They live in Settings, under Sync and backup.
How many you get
- Free: a daily copy, for 3 days.
- Plus: one an hour for 24 hours, then daily for 7 days. This morning's mistake has a lunchtime copy.
- Premium: one every 30 minutes for 24 hours, then daily for 30 days. Any moment this month.
You can also keep a save of your own: one on Free, five on Plus and Premium. Those sit outside the schedule and nothing prunes them out from under you.
Restoring one
Open Restore Points, pick a copy by when it was taken, and confirm. Buhata puts that copy back on this device and everything currently here is replaced. That is the one action in the app with nothing behind it, so it says which copy before it happens rather than after.
The state that was there is kept as its own copy the moment the restore lands, and a band stands at the bottom of the screen until you tell it to keep the restore or put things back. Picking the wrong copy costs you a press.
Deleting a repeating entry is a different question
If you delete something that repeats, Buhata asks which you meant: this one, this and future, or the whole series. Answer that and you usually never need a restore point at all.
If you cancel a paid plan
Your history is not deleted on the day you cancel. A cancelled account keeps the more generous ladder for 30 days, so somebody who changes their mind inside a month gets everything back. After that the pruning is ordinary again.
Taking a copy that is yours to keep
Restore Points live on your account rather than on your machine. If you want a copy that does not depend on us at all, Settings has Email me my data, which sends your account data to the address you sign in with. A few records are deliberately held back, the file names them and says why, and [email protected] answers for the rest within 30 days.
